Going home...

There is both excitement and a little sadness today. My first big girl doll, Mathilde has found a Mama to call her own. So we are getting ready for a big journey across a big pond...full of fishes, shining shells, starlight and mermaids... She seemed to have a slightly wistful expression on her face this morning as I tied a piece of merino seaweed onto her hair...

Wrapping dolls up for their new homes is no small task. It takes, time, attention, care in the details. Thought over the materials, the paper, the wool, the string.

It can't be rushed, nor should it.

Creating is all about capturing a dream inside a net thrown over the tides of your experiences. Picking up the shells and stones that speak to your heart along the shoreline. And then throwing them back to the ocean, their song of the sea still singing in your ear...

Bon voyage Mathilde.
